“The Prada of Cupcakes” was our design brief for this project, the first of a number of retail outlets for Ghermez Cupcakes. With this challenge in mind we proposed a palette of sumptuous materials in an abstract yet elegantly detailed composition. The project combines large-scale elements that work at the scale of the mall with intimate details and lighting that facilitate personal engagement with their fantastic product.
A subtlety-illuminated textured red portal frames a refined display case which houses the cupcakes. Emphasis was on design quality over quantity of floor space for the project with focus on the major counter / portal element as the signature feature for the flagship store.
