23.MAY.2012 – “Bookwall” by Stacey Lewis, is the next installment of our UTS Hoardings Artworks Project going in right now! Bookwall is one of five projects designed to improve student and public experience of the public domain adjacent to the various Masterplan construction sites. As part of this initiative UTS ran a limited design competition calling for complimentary artworks to be applied to the master plan construction hoardings.
This design proposal is the second of five commissions awarded under the competition and was chosen particularly for its playful yet direct synthesis of academic excellence within UTS with the underground robotic book-stacker that is being built behind the hoarding. DRAW were responsible for leading the creative team and project to construction and will be doing so for the remaining projects over the UTS Masterplan roll-out.
